Cavalok Fire Rated Cavity Walls With Cavity Closers
Building cavities are ‘hidden’ areas where fires can spread unchecked. Building Regulations require cavity barriers to be used around wall openings and junctions, especially in timber and steel-framed buildings. What’s more, traditional methods of fire stopping, such as timber or steel stops, are thermally weak, while others, such as window frames or boards, rely on perfect construction conditions.
Within the cavity wall itself there can be unchecked voids running around the building. Cavity barriers are required by Part B of the building regulations to prevent fires passing from floor-to-floor or dwelling-to-dwelling."
Cavalok solution:
Cavalok offers two products that exceed the requirements for ‘cavity barriers’ set out in the Building Regulations.

The FlameBlok cavity closer is a one-hour fire-tested barrier and closer for cavities between 50mm and 150mm. It is the only frame forming closer to cover so many widths with rigorous testing.
FireSok gives one-hour fire protection to cavities, it is a compressible mineral wool barrier which halts the spread of flame in the cavity. It can be used at junctions and partitions within walls or at openings to provide a fire rated window or door opening.
